a fun presentation on linguistic silos and how to overcome them
In a multi-cultural or (linguistically) diverse team, even if we all seem to speak the same language (usually English), we have different cultural and linguistic backgrounds which can create linguistic barriers or silos. In this ignite talk, based on personal experience as well as scientific research results, I would like to raise awareness of such silos and suggest possible measures to overcome them.
Peter has been working in the software industry since 2001. Since 2008, he's been with Avaloq, a leading financial technology and service provider, in various roles such as software developer, project manager, team lead, technical business analyst and scrum master. He currently serves as product owner of the Client Onboarding and Client Lifecycle Management application. He has great interest in agile practices but also in more technical software engineering and programming topics, mathematical and algorithmic puzzles, languages and literature.
