From Skeptic to Believer: How a DevOps Engineer Learned to Trust AI agent.
As a Junior DevOps engineer, I was skeptical when I first tried GitHub Copilot—just another “AI tool” promising more errors than help. The last thing I wanted was to devolve into a “vibe programmer” who mindlessly accepts suggestions.
But over time, Copilot transformed from a doubtful indulgence into an intelligent assistant that boosted my confidence, reduced friction in day-to-day tasks, and nurtured my learning.
In this 5-minute Ignite, I’ll briefly share my journey from skepticism to acceptance: the moments when Copilot started offering genuinely useful code snippets for bash, Terraform, Helm, and incident-response scripts. You’ll hear about hitting bugs, catching hallucinations, and ultimately gaining faster productivity and better understanding—without losing control.
Expect honest reflection, a pinch of humor, and a relatable story for any junior (or even senior) engineer wrestling with the “AI again” question.
