Call for Proposals — DevOpsDays Halifax 2026
DevOpsDays Halifax is back, and we’re excited to open this year’s Call for Proposals.
Over the years, the event has grown into a strong community gathering for people who care about building, operating, securing, and improving technology. We want the day to feel practical, thoughtful, and useful, and we’re looking for talks that give people something real to take away.
Event Details
Date: September 29
Location: Volta
Address: 1800 Argyle St Unit 801, Halifax, NS B3J 3N8
This is a single-track event, so we’re especially looking for talks that can connect with a broad audience and contribute to the overall energy of the day.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for talks that are clear, grounded, and worth remembering.
That could be:
- a hard-earned lesson from a project that did not go as planned
- a technical deep dive with practical takeaways
- a story about failure, recovery, change, or growth
- a useful approach to improving systems, teams, tooling, or workflows
- a perspective that helps people think differently about their work
You do not need to be a well-known speaker to submit. Some of the best talks come from people sharing something real, useful, and honest.
Topics
We welcome proposals across this year’s tracks:
- Automation
- Cloud Native
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML)
- Monitoring and Observability
- Collaboration
- Security
- Testing
- Edge Computing
- Serverless Computing
- Open Source Tools and Technologies
- Quantum Computing
- Other
- Open Spaces
If your talk fits naturally within one of these areas and gives attendees something practical, thoughtful, or memorable to take away, we’d love to hear about it.
What Makes a Strong Proposal
The strongest submissions are usually the clearest ones.
A good proposal should help reviewers quickly understand:
- what your talk is about
- why it matters
- what the audience will learn
- who it is for
- whether it works well for a mixed audience
Concrete examples, real lessons, and clear takeaways usually stand out more than broad or overly abstract ideas.
First-Time Speakers
If this would be your first time speaking, we’d still absolutely encourage you to submit.
DevOpsDays has always made room for new voices, and we’d love to keep that true in Halifax.
Travel and Accommodation Support
If you require support for travel or accommodation, please email [email protected] with some details.
We have a limited budget for speaker support and will do our best to help where we can.
Code of Conduct
You can review our Code of Conduct here:
https://devopsdays.org/events/2024-halifax/conduct
We’ll update the event-specific details for this year, but the spirit remains the same: DevOpsDays Halifax is meant to be a respectful, welcoming, and community-driven space for everyone attending.
Final Thought
If you have a talk with a clear idea, a real lesson, and something useful to share, we’d love to see your submission.
Submissions close on 2026-06-08 21:00 (America/Halifax), 1 month, 2 weeks from now.
