DevOpsDays in Brazil, from the first DoD to top2
2024-09-03 , Man Track

Discover the journey of Brazilian DevOpsDays from one event per year to becoming top2. Overcoming cultural disparities and financial constraints, we expanded to regions lacking DevOps or even tech events. Our mission to the future is establish an association to enhance and expand event execution across the country.

In this talk we will talk about the trajectory of the Brazilian DevOpsDays community and how we went from having one devopsdays in one year to being the second country with the highest number of devopsdays in the world.

We will talk about all the challenges we had related to cultural differences in a continental country, difficulty in getting sponsors and holding events with little money.

The Brazilian DevOps community has had an absurd impact on the Brazilian technical community, taking high quality events to places where they never had a history of relevant events before.

We will tell you about our saga to create an association to professionalize the carrying out of some activities and thus ensure that DoD is carried out in more cities, mainly in the interior.
