Call for Papers do DevOpsDay Salvador 2026
DevOpsDays Salvador is the local edition, held in Salvador (BA), of a global event series called DevOpsDays. It is a technical conference organized by the local DevOps community, focused on software development, IT infrastructure operations, and the intersection between them.
Presentation Formats
At DevOpsDays, you can participate in three ways:
🔹 Talks (15 minutes)
Short, focused presentations during the conference, centered on sharing experiences, lessons learned, and practical insights.⚡ Ignite Talks (5 minutes)
Fast-paced and challenging! Slides advance automatically every 15 seconds (20 slides total). Perfect for anyone who wants to deliver an idea quickly and with impact.💬 Open Space
If you'd like to facilitate a discussion group during the event, you can do so in an Open Space session. No prior submission is required — topics are proposed on the day of the conference.Want to present a product or service? That should be done as a sponsor, in a dedicated space.
Why only 15 minutes?
Our average attention span is around 20 minutes. That's why talks run 15 minutes, followed by 5 minutes for questions.
Research also shows that the opening moments are decisive:
➔ First impressions form within seconds
➔ Within about 3 minutes, the audience has already decided how valuable the content is
In other words: nail your opening!
Selection Criteria
Talk curation combines technical evaluation with diversity of perspectives. Some of what we look for:
🌍 Relevance and reach
Sua apresentação agrega valor para pessoas com diferentes níveis de experiência? Conteúdos muito específicos devem considerar formas de ampliar o entendimento geral.🗣️ New local speakers
Does your talk add value for people across different experience levels? Highly specific topics should consider ways to broaden their general appeal.🤝 Diversity of voices
We actively seek broader representation. If your background and perspective differ from the typical tech event profile, we want to hear from you.🚫 Direct submissions only
Proposals must be submitted by the person who will actually be presenting. This ensures a genuine connection with the community and the event.📦 Products and services
We value our speakers and supporters greatly — we will not accept talks that lean toward being a product pitch.
Topic Ideas
We always aim for the widest variety of subjects possible — we know that's key to making a truly great event. So we encourage you to think outside the box when submitting. We also recommend submitting more than one topic: statistically, submitting only one can reduce your chances of being selected. Here are some ideas to get the wheels turning:
🧠 Mental health in tech
🙌 Blameless culture
⚠️ Risk management
🔍 Learning from failure
🔄 Continuous improvement
🔺 The Three Ways
